Your post resonates with me 100%. Similar things are happening in MI. And, I decided to run for precinct delegate—a small thing I can do to be a part of the solutions. At heart, I’m neither R nor D, just an independent, naturalized US citizen who understands and appreciates what made America great.

I will unsubscribe. We can not have economic freedom in this country when half the population is restricted from healthcare. I will never vote for another republican until they drop the cultural wars and the reactionary vision. This country can not grow with this nonsense.

That doesn't make any sense - we have the most dynamic, creative, successful healthcare industry in the history of the world. Compare your great grandparents' healthcare options to what we have today - we are making tremendous progress, and it's short-sighted to believe the fibs that we are not.

Expand full comment

I believe you misread the persons comment. They are not concerned about the ‘industry’ but rather access to healthcare. An industry can be strong, growing and thriving, and still not available to those that can make the best of said industry. All the options are great, but if they aren’t affordable (I.e. accessible) it’s useless.

Typical Dem response, pick a topic and create a disagreement which has nothing to do with the the original conversation. How does your subscription to a newsletter and the nations healthcare as an industry which wasn't discussed on the article and anything to do with each other. Marc did cause any of these issues you are claiming, in fact I'm not sure you have actually mentioned our explained what are the issues? All general high level comments, which doesn't do anything but leave gray areas allow you to shift the argument if you're losing. Just the fact that Marc is a republican you had to find someone to say negative. If you want to say something, say it, bring it on and let's actually debate the subject, lets see if you can stand behind your disposition?

Where did you get your information? CNN or did you come up with that crap all on your own...

I'm genuinely interested to hear how you could come to such a dumbass conclusion that necessitated the spewing of all that obvious nonsense....

The democraps are the ones responsible for promoting racism in modern times... where it has absolutely no place... I mean, you fucks are just perpetuating a nightmare, leave it be already! Jeez-my-kneez!

Unsubscribing. The last time we had a Republican President he let a disease ravage the country, tank the economy, and did not provide a peaceful transition of power when he lost. The RNC is a criminal organization, abetting that behavior and much more. Moreover, a serious chunk of Republican voters have really devolved into a primordial soup of culture war grievances, conspiracy theories, and alt-right reactionary politics. I can’t even have a conversation at the local level without this stuff coming up. “I believe in growth” wow cool, very exciting, good luck with that!

Is that what CNN and MSNBC told you to think?

Expand full comment

Marc, the mere fact you ‘liked’ this comment indicates your inability to engage in productive political debate. If you want to have ‘just another’ alt-right blog/forum then you’ll succeed. If you really want to discuss and debate topics, you’re not off to a good start.

Additionally, just like in the professional world, one cannot make an off color or otherwise ‘likely to offend many people’ comment and then claim ‘it was just humor’ when called out about the comment. And when that becomes a pattern, you quickly lose credibility with those you are claiming to want to engage.

Clearly, this is ‘your forum’ and you will chose to do with it what you will. And individually, we will all ‘vote’ to stay or leave. That’s part of what makes America a wonderful place.

Nah I get most of my news from Fox, OANN, NewsMax, Breitbart, and InfoWars

Best of luck. You talk a big game about growth but demonstrate a fixed mindset, perhaps you should consider being a little less smug. As a fiscally conservative Democrat, I was willing to follow along, but your superiority complex at the end demonstrates a toxic trait present in too many American politicians.

Hi Marc, great to see someone of your caliber entering public service regardless of party. That said given the current situation in the GOP it's important to understand your positions on two important issues of the day.

1. Was the 2020 election fraudulent? Do you believe the debunked claims put forth by President Trump and others that he won the election? Is Joe Biden, regardless of whether you agree with his policies, the dully and lawfully elected president of the US?

2. What is your position on whether government should be involved in the medical decisions between a patient and their doctor, including access to abortion for whatever reason?

Great to hear from you Steve! This is a fun game to play - you go first:

1. Do you believe Hillary Clinton’s Russian Collusion hoax? And was Abrams elected governor of Georgia in 2018?

2. Do you believe state governments should have police power and legislate on local matters according to local mores? Or should we do away with variation by state and just have one standard in every state? Should Seattle have its own laws, or should they be determined by one national vote?

Classic ‘what about’ misdirection. IF you ever really take a run at politics, you’ll fit in perfectly. Keep it up and this might even garner you an endorsement from Trump, himself!

Thank you for asking two really important policy questions. Sadly, I see your questions received no attention from the author/candidate.

Marc,

I appreciate and encourage anybody who feels strongly and has thought through their positions to run for elected office, whether I agree with their positions or not. America depends on vigorous political debate to thrive and when all parties provide their best arguments we all benefit from thorough exploration before selecting a course of action.

As a Conservative, I believe that change should happen slowly and carefully. As a Classical Liberal, I believe that people should (largely) be allowed to believe and act as they wish without reference or regard to my beliefs (the obvious exceptions being when their actions impinge or destroy the rights of others to exist and behave as they choose). As an Old Man, I believe that I don't know much and much of what I believe is probably wrong, just like everybody else.

Way to go Marc! It's about time we got some true American blood headed to Washington DC.... what's your stance on term limits?

Any chance you would be interested in promoting such an idea up on The Hill??

Thank you for your efforts, Marc. You are a role model that proves that having the ability to build an organization and make a lot of money is no indication of intelligence, open-mindedness, compassion or nuance. Good night!

I feel your pain. Living in the People's Republic of Washington, we deal with draconian issues daily. Higher taxes, gun control, homelessness, crime, crime and more crime. What is worse, I live on the border between Washington and Oregon...so I get a double barrel shot of absolute stupidity. We are trying. We have some good candidates to replace a few RINO's, but it is an uphill battle.
