Happy that this is his experience. Sadly, much of that is only true if you are a white male in America.

Excellent insight from a legal immigrant. He is describing the effects of America's Judeo-Christian heritage. Hard work, self sacrifice, moral living, respect and love for all humans.

Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to reveal truths we live with every day.

Thank you for sharing this uplifting tweet. As a co-immigrant of minority background, I wholeheartedly embrace the 10 points that he outlined. It is not by accident that America has turned out as good as it is, however. Abundance of opportunities comes from freedom, and the freedom is founded on the unique self-governance structure woven into the Constitution and Bill of Rights by the Founding Fathers. These principles are only as good as the people who are willing to uphold them. Compared to the America I first set foot in 45 years ago, there is less understanding and appreciation of what truly makes America great . . . and even greater if we're willing to keep it so!

One of the things I love about America is that our country is unique. No other country has over 300 million people, over 3 million sq. miles, 50 states, and a constitutional form of government. Plus we are the centers of finance (Wall Street), movie entertainment (Hollywood), and so much more. We have the freedom to travel, shop, work or not work and more. Are there problems? Sure!.. Are our freedoms sometimes abused, Yep! But they are the exception rather than the rule.

Very good read. The whole American dream starts with "Freedom" with put it we are not Americans. I would hate to live in a country where your not free to choose what you want to do. From work. From family. From how many children you can have. To where you want to live. Or go to school. Protect our freedom at all cost. The rest can fall into place

I love to read personal experiences like this. It really reminds me of everything great about our country. Now if the far left would stop trying to wreck it all and turn us into a 3rd world country, things would really be grand.

I love the freedom of religion and the freedom to speak your mind. Without the ability to explore new ideas and philosophies, a lot of the best ideas and concepts can get crushed before they have a chance to grow. Unfortunately, these freedoms are also under attack these days and without them, the rest will quickly disappear too

FYI, Mr. Asad's essay was featured (verbatim) in Peggy Noonan's popular Wall Street Journal column last Thursday, December 30. It was as inspiring there as in your message, and it has attracted nearly 1,000 comments.

Nice sentiment but that America is under attack by Marxists and Globalists - especially the larger Tech tyrants at twitter google Amazon apple as well as media moguls abccbsmsnbccnnpbs…attverizon…social media is a mind poison for our youth and as someone once said we are only one generation from losing our freedom - hopefully the pendulum will swing back but the present govt looks more like the Communist Chinese than America I grew up in.
