Knozen names the most caring cities in the USA
Colorado Springs is the most caring city in America, and the rest of the Top 5 might surprise you. We also name the three “least caring cities” in the country.
Knozen, the personality site, has asked over 1 million people more than 30 million questions about themselves and others and crunched the data to find which city has the highest percentage of people considered caring by their friends across the country. We also looked deeper and found what it was about each city that set them apart…

Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is the most caring city in the country, with friends rating 81% of Colorado Springs citizens to be caring. Perhaps it’s the military bases, the colleges, or the national evangelical movements here, but people of this city care.
Colorado Springs citizens were also rated more likely to listen to both sides of a story than any other city in the USA. Is the even-handedness the result of the natural beauty and fine climate?
Interestingly, the people of this city were also rated the least likely to bend rules in their own favor.

Miami
Perhaps a surprise, given all the other colorful reputations Miami has developed on the big screen in past few decades, but the people of Miami were rated the 2nd most caring in the whole of the United States.
Citizens of this south Florida megapolis were also rated most likely to make people laugh.
With beautiful weather and an amazing assortment of cultures and peoples, perhaps it’s easy to understand why smiles and laughs come so easily here.

St. Louis
In this largest city of the Great Plains, the citizens of St. Louis, Missouri are rated 3rd most caring in the country by their friends on Knozen. It’s also one of three cities named after a saint to make the most caring list… hmmmm!
The Gateway to the West is more than a place to pass through, as St. Louis was also rated the place where people are most likely to give random compliments.
Though they’d never thumb their nose at their cross-state sibling, St. Louisians will be pleased to know that they are not sharing the “least caring” list with Kansas City.

San Jose
Anchoring the southern end of Silicon Valley, San Jose sets itself apart from tony Palo Alto and the carnival of San Francisco with its caring ways. Rated 4th most caring in the country, San Jose’s agricultural roots and high-tech future combine for a population that watches out for each other.
The people of San Jose were also rated most likely to help someone in need, keeping in line with Northern California’s reputation for social justice.

San Antonio
Rounding out the top 5, “Remember the Alamo!” and your neighbors’ well-being when you’re in San Antonio. The famous landmark has inspired citizens here to be the fifth most caring in the nation.
Interestingly, San Antonio is also rated the most forgiving city in the United States.
The least caring cities in the USA
And now, for the bottom three… the cities with the least caring people, as voted by their friends:
Austin, Texas
While known for SXSW and keeping themselves weird, Austinites are not viewed by their friends as being caring.
Boston
Perhaps it’s the Yankee independence, the pride that comes with an unprecedented collection of championships, or just Deflategate, but the residents of Boston rate low on caring.
Beantown is considered a mean town by their friends across the country.
And the least caring city in America is…
Kansas City, Missouri
Something about having to explain to clueless outsiders that no, your city is not located in the state with which is shares its name, must drive the citizens of Kansas City to distraction.
Rated the last caring city in the country by their friends, Kansas City might want to spread more of the love with its famous BBQ. We’d love a rack of Jack Stack here at Knozen headquarters!
