Suave, polished, urban, celebrity-driven Clinton supporters vs. quirky, earnest and open Sanders supporters: Knozen personality profile research reveals 27 differences between the supporters of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
At Knozen, the leading personality site, we asked 6,000 candidate supporters over 1.25 million personality and preference questions to get to the answer: what are the differences between the people of “I’m with Her” and “Feel the Bern” camps? Following on our Trump research last month, what we found confirmed popular perceptions, but also surprised us.
We’ve organized the responses in the order of questions that Sanders’ supporters were more likely to say “yes” at the top:
Overall, the quirkier nature of Sanders supporters came through. They’re internet-savvy, more open to all sorts of experiences and behaviors, and perhaps a little edgier than Clinton supporters.
Sanders supporters were more likely to have “sat down and talked with an enemy” and less likely to have cheated on someone.
Interestingly, they were also much more likely to have ever offered someone a bribe.
Clinton supporters, by contrast, come across as urban, polished, and perhaps a little bit corporate. They’re more likely to be confident, want to live next door to a celebrity, and describe themselves as being “a city person”.
They also are 50% more likely to want to “run your own company.” And also more likely to give compliments that they don’t mean.
They’re much less likely to feel it’s OK for guys to wear skirts, want to get a tattoo, or want to try bungie jumping.
While the answers to the over 1 million questions we asked Bernie and Hillary supporters mostly confirmed conventional wisdom about the differences between these two camps of supporters, it is interesting to see some of the implications come through in the data.
Hillary supporters are more celebrity-driven, more confident, and have more selfies on their phone. And Bernie supporters will talk all night, even with their enemies, though they might have a few bad puns in there.
Good luck to both in the rest of the campaign!
