Thanks, Marc; I’ve enjoyed your weekly musings for many years. Maybe now that you’re going for subscriptions, you should spring for an editor to avoid sentences such as: “ There’s too many complicated writers out there who prefer to sound fancy and write flashy instead of telling it like it is.”? This is not only passive but starts singular and ends plural. But love the Ben Franklin story. Maybe as a de facto Libertarian, you should team up with Reason Foundation?

😂 Great reference (amazing find, really!) but even I would always give a pass to a song lyric. Grammarly’s suggestion to rewrite is the best solution. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/there-is-there-are/. Instead of dissing most of your fellow writers, consider a pledge: ‘I’ll spend the time to make complex issues simple” and then cut about a dozen lines from the post that didn’t serve that pledge as you propel us toward subscription. I’m recovering from COVID (can’t smell/taste, but otherwise fine, thanks) and obviously have too much time on my hands.

I’m a newbie to the newsletters but do enjoy them. I’d wish you luck with the new one, but luck is for gambling and things you can control. Your newsletter is enjoyable to read, brings insight and knowledge to areas I enjoy reading about, and I am also a very very proud American, so I will be happy to spend $55 for a year of it! Let’s do this!

Good luck with this. How ironic that it comes in a time when the country is populated by many who give every indication of hating the country and everything about it. Doubly ironic is the reference to Franklin and noting that ours is a republic. It needs to be put on the wall of every galaxy brain that perpetually sputters about "but muh democracy...." when the process fails to yield their preferred result.

Marc, good luck and congratulations on your exciting new endeavor. I’ll read the Monday newsletter for a while and determine if the content (albeit a snippet) is something I wish to subscribe to. I assume if a patron signs up for the full package the opportunity to cancel at anytime is available if so desired? Would you consider the complete first week gratis? Again good luck and I’ll see if this product is something appealing to add to my already full inbox. Thanks, Phil.
